To know where the breed is going, we must know about the past. Before you think about breeding, please strive to learn about the past breeders; the great breeders who got us here. It is up to us to insure that this magnificent breed, that so many of these late, great breeders spent their lifetime preserving, is carefully maintained and managed.

Hilary Jupp of England has put together an incredible website featuring our breeds history.  Even more fascinating is the history of kennels of the past. This includes two kennels whose pedigrees are found prominently in so many of our modern day Irish Wolfhounds: Eaglescrag and Sulhamstead
